Golf Courses Near Dawlish Warren

From picturesque views across the fairway to well-trimmed greens, these courses will provide a great day out for any golf enthusiast!

Bovey Castle Golf Course

Situated on the grounds of the five-star hotel of Bovey Castle, the golf course lives up to all expectations offering a challenging and beautiful setting. The course was designed in 1926 by JF Abercromby, a famed landscape architect who designed some of the finest courses from the golden era.

The course will present a challenge for even the most seasoned golfers, with players of all abilities welcomed to test their skill. The course showcases some of the estate’s finest landscapes, with lush greenery and magnificent trees never far from sight. The castle also has a driving range and a well-stocked golf shop with clubs, balls and clothing all available. The course is open all year round, opening at 9:00am and closing time subject to time of year or weather.

Woodbury Park Golf Club

Offering visitors a chance to play a world class course, the Woodbury Park course is blessed with glorious surroundings. The golf course is excellently designed and can be enjoyed by all abilities. Even if you’re having a bit of an ‘off-day’, you can still enjoy the beautiful scenery the envelops the course.

Catering for all abilities, the nine-hole Acorns course is open to everyone for pay and play, or if you think you’re up to the challenge, you can take on the Championship 18 hole course. They also offer a great driving range and a coaching program for anyone looking to improve their game.

Thurlestone Golf Club

Continuing the theme of beautiful surroundings, Thurlestone is situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Thurlestone’s location means that it can take a little longer to get there than other courses on the list, however, you will be rewarded with a beautiful coastal game.

Running along the idyllic coastline of Bigbury Bay, the course offers plenty of clifftop terrain which gives players a chance to soak up the panoramic views. The course isn’t as challenging as the previous two, however, it is more open to the elements which in itself can provide a tough task for players.

Warren Golf Club

The definition of a links golf course is one that incorpates open park land and coastal dunes which the Warren Golf Club does thoroughly. Its unique location based on the spit of land that edges out into the water from Dawlish Warren, is neighboured by the golden Dawlish Warren beach on one side and a lush green area on the other.

You’ll be warmly welcomed by staff and fellow golfers at the clubhouse before making your way out onto the course. Afterwards you can enjoy the long stretch of beach that is just a stone’s throw away, or venture into Dawlish for lunch from on of the fish and chip shops nearby.

If you’re planning on heading to the Warren Golf Club, or any of these fine courses, and wanting to stay over for a night or two in a nice golf hotel near Dartmoor, why not check out our hotel in Dawlish? You can book online or get in touch for more info.
