Hotel Entertainment: Meet Professor Bumble

Professor Bumble’s show is full of juggling, magic, puppets, spinning plates, slapstick comedy, audience participation, balloon animals, a unicycle, and corny jokes!

What made you want to do the job you do?

I started juggling when I was working in a motorbike shop. Very quiet in the winter, and one of the guys turned up with juggling balls and taught the sales team and the mechanics how to juggle. We’d have competitions who could juggle longest without dropping one.

I was juggling one day and a customer asked me if I did kid’s parties – the rest is history.

How long have you been performing at Langstone Cliff Hotel?

I’m not sure exactly how long I’ve done shows at Langstone Cliff, must be around 15 years.

What is your favourite part of entertaining at Langstone Cliff Hotel?

I love a good audience. Most audiences are lovely which really helps me, and I have as much fun as they do. Some audiences are trickier .

If you can, describe your act in three words!

Really quite silly

Tell us something about yourself.

I used to play unicycle hockey, and my team I got to the finals of the European Unicycle Championships in the early 90’s. Sadly we lost in the final to a French team of circus performers.

When I’m not juggling I enjoy riding my 3 motorbikes. (Not all at the same time).
