Everything You Need To Know About Woodlands Family Theme Park

Here is our guide to Woodlands Family Theme Park so you can make the most of your day there. Remember, no other accommodation near Woodlands Family Theme Park will give you a warming dinner and an evening of relaxation and entertainment when you return!

How to Get There?

Woodlands is the largest family theme park in Devon, so we really encourage our guests to make the day trip. Here are a few pointers depending on where you’re coming from…

  • You can get to the theme park from our hotel via the A381 or by incorporating the A379 into your route.
  • If you are visiting the park before checking in to the Langstone Cliff Hotel first, you can travel from the M5 at Exeter, follow the A38 Southbound towards Plymouth but be careful if you are using a Sat Nav!
  • There is a chance they will try and send you along the A380 to Torquay which involves a ferry crossing, and we wouldn’t want that.
  • On the approach to Plymouth, take the Buckfastleigh/Totnes exit and you will soon see Woodlands – when the kids ask “are we there yet?” you can finally say, yes!

Parking & Prices

Car parking at Woodlands is free, and there are even toilet facilities in the lower car park should you or your little ones need to go after the drive. Entry prices vary at Woodlands depending on the time of year; if you visit during off peak term time, tickets start from £7.50.

You will pay £13.16 per person online for entry when the park is fully open, and £13.93 per person if you want to visit during Summer Fun hours. Infants (under 92cms) can enjoy Woodlands for free.

You can find out more about the opening hours and dates here.

Things To Do Inside and Outside

A great day out whatever the weather, there is so much to do at Woodlands we aren’t sure we can fit it all into this guide. Not only is Woodlands a theme park, it also has its very own zoo farm.

Thrilling rides can be found at Woodlands, but there is plenty to do inside too. The newest addition to outdoor rides was Vertigo in 2017 but if you aren’t brave enough there are other things to try.

The first thing you see when you enter Woodlands is the Sea Dragon Swing Ship in the Sea Monster zone, but there is also a Dolphin Toddler play, Bumper Boats and much more.

Head to the Action Zone for some indoor sliding fun or the Toddlers Village Zone – this has been created especially for your little ones. We recommend deciding on what rides you want to try before you arrive, and making a list! There is also an Arctic Zone hidden in the woods, a Fantasi Forest Zone, Circus Drome Zone, Ninja Zone and Cyclone Canyon Zone. That’s a lot of fun!

Zoo Farm

Discover the zoo farm and there will be plenty of new baby animals to fawn over, and loads of animal activities going on. Nocturnal House will let your family see into the secrets lives of the animals that only come out at night, and Goat Mountain is full of surprises and a chance to feed the resident goats. Outside in the paddocks make sure you stop and see the fluffy Alpacas, Llamas, and rare Manx Sheep – there are even Emus! From parrots and chickens, rabbits and guinea pigs, to reptiles, meerkats, pigs and cows, Woodlands looks after all the animals it cares for so you can learn more about them. And once you’ve asked some questions and said hello, you can enjoy the farm rides and attractions. Did you know that the Woodlands Falconry Centre is one of the best in the UK?

Don’t forget…

There is also a shop on site for mementos, gift vouchers, snacks and pocket money gifts. Be sure to visit Teddy Mountain where you can customise a furry friend to take home, complete with birth certificate! If you’re a larger family and want dinner ready for when you get back to the Langstone Cliff Hotel, then don’t hesitate to contact a member of the team. We also have a lot of entertainment going on – for adults and the kids!
