The Langstone Cliff Hotel is proud to present The Stars of British Jazz The "Stars of British Jazz" perform traditional jazz music as made popular in the British trad-boom era of the 1950s and 60s, also known as British Trad.
From this period came names that dominated the British jazz scene for many years such as Kenny Ball, Chris Barber, Acker Bilk and Humphrey Lyttelton, all of whom had hugely successful bands – and all of whom performed at the Langstone Cliff Hotel!
The "Stars of British Jazz" are a mixture of past and present members of these famous bands and other younger musicians of top class ability, who have worked together for many years. They keep this wonderful music alive by presenting a programme of "British Style Trad Jazz" as well as more mainstream forms of the music, performed with great creativity and energy. And of course there just has to be a musical nod in the direction of the aforementioned 'famous names'!
